I recently completed my master’s in Acting at TISCH School of the Arts at New York University in May 2010. I am a diligent, talented young artist, interested in print work, film, commercial, television, and theater. I am an exuberant, adventurous hard worker who enjoys bringing light into peoples’ lives with an incomparable joie de vivre. I was born an actress and that is how I have lived my life.

I want to be no-one but myself because that is the only person I know how to be. I recognize the value of conventional wisdom, which furnishes the foundation for novel thought, but I am always open to new perspectives and I easily connect with people in any setting. In my travels I have come to understand that other cultures have a completely different “blueprint” from which they interpret life, and I appreciate that (even when I was temporarily “purchased” by a Moroccan hotelier without my knowledge). Learning to not judge others helps me to be unbiased toward whatever character I am portraying.

As an artist I am daring, yet strategic. I believe that life and art cannot be separated. I have written a one-person show addressing the universalities of human love in spite of our different cultural views regarding marriage. I am a visual and spiritual artist and my hope is that my work will be recognized as having the same cross cultural aesthetic as Julie Taymore’s work, highlighting the universalities amongst us all. I am a very physical actor, with a special affinity for my Movement Theater training, including a Commedia program in Italy for mask training and a rigorous full-body theater training at Double Edge Theater in Massachusetts, where we would run five miles or more until we broke down and had no energy to defend ourselves emotionally or act superficially, and the truth was able to shine through. My goal as an actor is to always let this truth shine through.

Having been a competitive runner and athlete for years, I have the stamina and the energy to give more than one hundred percent in all that I do—physically, mentally and spiritually. I love to be thrown out of my comfort zone and into a new perspective and sense of awareness, which I’ve accomplished through travel, having spent time in Morocco, the Dominican Republic and Haiti, Bangladesh, and Thailand. As an artist I also enjoy the artistry of food and enjoy preparing nice meals for loved ones. To ask me how I am as an artist is to ask me how I am as a person—and that is truly complicated—but I live life to the fullest, and I am not afraid of taking chances, for life would be boring and we would not grow without them.
